The agreement allows GIC to incorporate Ceetak’s QPH sealing technology at the design stage.
Leading vertical form fill and seal packaging machinery manufacturer GIC has announced that it is now incorporating Ceetak’s Quick Pulse Heat (QPH) sealing technology into its machines.
The agreement will allow GIC to incorporate our Quick Pulse Heat (QPH) sealing technology at the design stage, ensuring the clean and uncompromised design of their machines is retained.
Integrating QPH sealing technology allows full calibration, control and diagnostics of the system via the GIC touchscreen. A dedicated Ceetak sealing page on the HMI enables the user to control all operating characteristics related to the sealing, cooling and release phases of the cycle. This page also allows the user to calibrate the system to ambient conditions, ensuring efficient use of the system, and diagnose potential faults and warnings through a descriptive dialogue box.
A further benefit to GIC machine users is that the company’s machines can now feature interchangeable jaws, allowing either our traditional heat seal methods or our high integrity QPH sealing technology to be fitted or removed quickly. This gives operators flexibility in specifying methods of heat sealing polypropylene, polyethylene and laminates on the same VFFS machine.
Our ongoing test programmes have shown that QPH sealing technology ensures a high integrity, completely fused hermetic seal and can produce up to a 10% reduction in film usage and up to 25% reduction in film gauge along with minimal cleaning and maintenance.
GIC and Ceetak decided to form a closer working relationship in the spring of this year, following several years of our heat sealing technologies and component supply to GIC’s machines. The affiliation will be welcomed by GIC customers, many of which include Ceetak in their specifications as they seek to drive down packaging costs and reduce film use.
Due to the affiliation GIC is also now able to incorporate the TOSS HLS hot air sealer into its continuous motion machines. The leading hot air sealer can be specified to machines when they need to run at very high linear film speeds.
“We are always looking at offering our customers the very best vertical form, fill and seal packaging machines that we can produce,” says Andy Beal, Managing Director of GIC. “By including Ceetak’s QPH sealing technology into our machines, we can do that. It improves the machine’s performance and reduces not just the amount of film that is used but the amount of maintenance that is required, which lowers downtime for our customers.”
Based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, GIC was established more than 30 years ago and employs 25 people. The company manufactures an extensive range of vertical bagmakers, producing a wide range of finished bag sizes from 150 to 600mm wide, in both intermittent and continuous motion variants. All GIC machines offer low-cost ownership, robustness, reliability and exceptional build quality.
GIC’s machines integrate seamlessly with upstream equipment such as check-weighers, multi-head weighers, cup fillers and counters, with the company offering efficient and cost-effective after sales to all of its customers in fresh and frozen produce, cereals, snacks, confectionery, pasta, powders and pulses, industrial hardware and liquids.
